| Do you know the National Regulatory Policy Requirements for Food Safety Auditors? |

| Many auditors are finding that their training is no longer current or they are no longer able to audit high risk food businesses. |

| What are the requirements? |
| |
All food safety auditors, auditing on behalf of regulatory authorities must have the four base auditor competencies by 1st October 2011, they must also have the high risk competencies where applicable.
The base auditor competencies are as follows:
- FDFFSACA - Assess compliance with food safety programs
- FDFFSCHZA - Identify, evaluate and control food safety hazards
- FDFFSCOMA - Communicate and negotiate to food safety audits
- FDFFSCFSAA - Conduct food safety audits
The high risk competencies are as follows:
- FDFFSME4A - Audit manufacturing of ready-to-eat meat products
- FDFFSHT4A - Audit a heat treatment process
- FDFFSCC4A - Audit a cook chill process
- FDFFSBM4A – Audit bivalve mollusc growing and harvesting processes
